In 2013 Will Cooper melded his love for drawing and painting with his love for woodwork to develop the wooden mosaics for which he has become known. His technique involves cutting out designs from sheets of plywood, then meticulously sanding, painting, varnishing and gluing the pieces back together. The result—a whimsical and quintessentially Maritime style of art with vibrant colours and strong, curving lines—can be found brightening walls of homes and businesses around the world.
When Will isn't busy in the studio, he spends his time with his family, works on house renovations, and helps his wife, Jen, with her farm animal rescue. He also enjoys hiking, writing, and making music. Will is a member of Visual Arts Nova Scotia and Craft Nova Scotia. He lives with his wife, three children and a menagerie of rescued animals in Lower Canard, Nova Scotia. |
